Once again, we’re having to write such a status. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES, do we, or our staff, tolerate any abuse, especially to do with a parking fines. There has been a large increase of verbal abuse our staff are receiving over the phone recently. We have and continuously do try our hardest to try and resolve any parking fines that customers may accumulate whilst parking in our car park. We try and be empathetic with it, however, calling up, DEMANDING that we cancel it or do something about it, is absolutely no way forward, especially if you don’t have any proof of purchase, have no manners, or use such an excuse of ‘well I don’t read signs’. Staff are trying their hardest to try and prevent customers from receiving such fines, there are signs throughout the car park, in front of every entrance into the pub and now also on tables throughout the pub. We get that it’s frustrating, however we are all human, we don’t deserve to be shouted and screamed at, nor does we deserve to receive such negative reviews on Google, TripAdvisor, Facebook or any other socials when all we have tried to do is bring the pub back to a well known establishment it once were.

• LOCAL BUSINESS BRAINWAVE • So, I’ve had a slight brainwave but before the ADHD side of me kicks in & then it doesn’t work then I thought I’d see the locals ideas aswell… Church/Commercial Street have plenty of small, independent businesses such as a nail/beauty shop, a small florist, barbers, two butchers, hardware shop, pharmacy & and couple of convenience stores- can you see where I’m going yet? 🤦🏼 They’re all great.. but if you want to cook say a Sunday dinner then you’ve got the butchers but your looking at pre packed vegetables, if you want a breakfast then there’s no really cafe serving a bit of brunch What should be the main shopping strip isn’t that busy yet market traders need help to survive, farmers- without them the country would be screwed especially when they diversify running flood pumps & ploughing snow Anyway- IF we were to open either fortnightly or monthly on a Saturday morning, opening up for breakfasts in the pub with a Saturday Market in the carpark for local businesses where we would offer the stalls to them FOR FREE/ a small CHARITY donation then would people use it? What’s your thoughts? 👇🏻
