A traditional family-friendly pub
Soak up our friendly service and homely charm in the Yorkshire town of Norton, just across the River Derwent from Malton. Our beautiful pub dates back to the early 19th Century when it was the New Inn, later becoming the Royal Oak and finally the Derwent Arms! We’re the perfect place to sit back, relax and enjoy our delicious menu with your favourite drink in hand.

Sorry R***, I don’t agree with your review.. so here’s my reply 👇🏻 Dear R****, Thank you for your feedback about our ‘cold & scruffy pub’. We're truly sorry to hear about your experience, especially 2 pints of ‘flat and sour’ Moretti for £12- are you sure it was our pub? 2 pints of Moretti would be just over £10 here.. but who orders a second ‘flat and sour’ pint after the first one? We strive to provide a welcoming atmosphere and quality drinks, and it seems we fell short during your visit- if it was us you visited mind. Your comments will be noted, however looking at your past reviews it seems you either love or hate the same pubs depending what year it is & what month you visit. Leaving 3 reviews for the same pub over 18 months tells me you’ll be back again. We can’t wait to hopefully cook you something that might give us more that a 1* review- so we’ll see you in 2026! Tomorrow marks the 1st September- the start of a manic 4 months of some big plan including charity, community & festive events, the launch of some new weekly entertainment & a few changes to how things operate in the final quarter of the year 🫣 First of all next Sunday moving forward our new menu will launch- the classic Sunday lunch with seasonal veg sides, homemade gravy & not forgetting those desserts too! We have a right day for it.. Two premier league games, a busy food service already with some spaces still available too! We also unexpectedly have space for THREE motorhomes for the next 2 nights, all 3 have the option to upgrade to EHU aswell.
